Summit Rehabilitation’s therapists have extensive experience in providing ergonomic consulting services. Our therapists have established themselves as community leaders in the field. The diverse background of our staff allows for expertise across the vast spectrum of ergonomics.

We provide result-oriented, cost-effective solutions to meet a variety of ergonomic needs. Our approach is client-oriented and individualized. We rely on state-of-the-art principles and research to guide our evidence-based approach. Our certified staff routinely attend continuing education courses and conferences to ensure that our interventions reflect recent research practices and product knowledge.

Comprehensive Ergonomic Services

Our certified ergonomic specialist can analyze the workplace and suggest work method or equipment modifications to reduce ergonomic risk and help workers safely return to work in the office or industrial environment.

  • Job Modification Consultations: Evaluation and recommendation of job modifications that may allow a worker to return to work or allow the worker to remain at work while recovering from an injury.
  • Pre-Job Modification Consultations: Evaluation and recommendation of job modifications that may allow a worker to participate in a retraining plan or be employable.
  • Ergonomic Analysis: Evaluation of ergonomic risk factors and “red flag” job tasks that my result in musculoskeletal injuries. We provide practical and economical solutions to reduce injury risk and keep workers safely on the job.

Meet Our Staff

Bob HoctorRobert Hoctor: OTR/L, ATP, CEES
Bob has practiced as an occupational therapist since 1991. In addition, Bob is an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and a Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist (CEES). Bob’s expertise is in job task analysis & design, job accommodations, alternative computer hardware and software applications, and job task specific seating/positioning solutions. Bob has completed extensive course work in industrial and advanced office ergonomics.

Jim StrandyJames Strandy: PT, CHT, CEA
Jim has practiced as a physical therapist since 1977. He is a Certified Hand Therapist and is recognized as an expert in management of upper extremity musculoskeletal injuries. Jim has provided ergonomic services in a variety of industries with expertise in anthropometry and biomechanics. Jim is a local and national presenter on upper extremity injury management and ergonomics. Jim has received his certification as a Certified Ergonomic Associate (CEA) through the Board for Certification of Professional Ergonomist (BCPE).
